Interlibrary Loan Card (ILL card)

In order to broaden the book resources for our faculty and students and facilitate the circulation of the materials, the NTNU library cooperates with other domestic libraries and provided the NTNU faculty, staff, and students with Interlibrary Loan Cards (ILL cards) to borrow books from the cooperating libraries. The patron who has applied for the ILL card can visit the cooperating library to borrow books/items. All the NTNU current faculty, staff, and enrolled students are welcome to make use of these services.

The Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy of Academia Sinica is closed for library renovation from March 11 to July 14, 2024. The interlibrary loan card will be suspended in this period accordingly. Application	Each person can borrow up to three Interlibrary Loan Cards, one per university. Cards must be returned by the expiry date. You must return borrowed materials and paid off all library fines before obtaining a new card. During library opening hours, the patron may borrow ILL cards in person with the NTNU ID cards at the circulation desk in the Main Library, Gungguan library, and Linkou library. Each ILL card is valid for 21 to 30 days depending on the cooperating library. Please return all the loans and clear the fees before returning the ILL card.
Borrowing rules	Each ILL card can check out up to 5 books/items. The loan period is 21 days depending on the rules of the cooperating library. The reservation and renewal are not applicable. The 13 libraries of National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, National Tsing Hua University, National Chung Hsing University, Academia Sinica Library (7 libraries), and The Affiliated High School of National Chengchi University can lend the books for 30 days. (Depend on the rules of the cooperating library)
Return	Please return the books in person to the cooperating library before the due date. If books/items are overdue, readers are liable to overdue fines according to the loan policies of the cooperative libraries. Please visit the cooperating library to clear the library fees and ask for the receipt. It is suggested to keep the receipt for three months.) Readers may use the Three Interlibrary Books Return Service to return the interlibrary loan books/items. To do this, the patron should bring the books/items to the Main Library circulation desks at least 3 to 5 working days before the due date. This service is not applicable to the patron who borrowed with the Multi-Library Loan Service. The books/items checked out from NTU, NCCU with the Multi-library loan service (with the student ID card), please visit the library in person to return. If the Three Interlibrary Books Return Service is suspended or delayed causing an overdue issue in the cooperating library, the patron is subjected to the library fees depending on the rules of the cooperating library. The suspension or delay of the book return service cannot be the reason for fee deduction or due date extension.
Note	Readers must abide by the loan policies and regulations of the cooperating libraries. Readers must abide by the Copyright Law. Please take good care of all checked-out books/items. If any book/item is damaged or lost, the reader will be responsible for them according to the regulations of the cooperating libraries. Before returning the ILL card, the patron should return all the books/items and clear the library fees. The patron’s library privileges will be suspended if there is an unpaid fee or outstanding books, as well as the right to apply for the ILL card according to the Interlibrary Loan Regulations. The patron should keep the interlibrary loan cards in good condition. Please contact the Main Library circulation desk as soon as possible if any loss or damage occurs. Before reporting the loss, the ILL cardholder will be responsible for the book/item loss according to the regulations of the cooperating libraries. The patron cannot apply for the suspension of study or clearance procedures if there are any on-loan books/items or unpaid library fees at the cooperating library. Please manually check the status 2 to 3 working days after returning the ILL card. Check if the card is released after all the books/items are returned and the library fee is paid. The ILL card cannot be borrowed right after it is returned.
